Highway cum Pavement Engineer

Experience Required :

15 years| Experience in similar capacity Geometric & Pavement design for major highway projects (2/4/6 lane NH/SH/Expressways)

Age Limit :

65 years

Qualification :

Essential : Degree in Civil Engineering| Desirable : Masters in highway engineering / Transportation Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise traffic and pavement investigations, including classified traffic counts, axle load surveys, CBR testing, and FWD/BBD tests.
  • Develop highway alignment and geometric design using IRC:38, IRC:73, IRC:86, and related standards.
  • Carry out pavement design for flexible, rigid, and composite pavements using IRC:37, IRC:58, and IRC:120.
  • Analyze traffic growth, subgrade conditions, material properties, and propose optimal pavement compositions.
  • Prepare detailed design reports, including Design Basis Report (DBR) and Pavement Design Report.
  • Prepare cross-sections, BOQs, cost estimates, and technical specifications as per MORTH & IRC.
  • Review and finalize typical cross-sections, junction layouts, service roads, and roadside drainage systems.
  • Provide design inputs for geometric improvements, safety features, and maintenance strategies.
  • Use software tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, IITPAVE, KENPAVE, BISAR, etc. for analysis and documentation.
  • Participate in value engineering and cost optimization studies during the DPR stage.
  • Support the Team Leader in client presentations and design clarifications to MORTH/NHAI/PWD.
